It winks at the earth in darkness
And the earth beholds its beauty
It cries in the loudest of voices
But the earth comprehends not its fury
Unto the dry slate it descends
To choke her nostrils
And gave way to air fermented
But the earth resents
Though she is helpless

Yesterday's Wisdom
A walk on the shores of yesterday's thoughts
We drowned a thousand feet and emerged taught
Memories of ancient wisdom jog along my skull
And winnow my brain from the rain of fashion chaff
From a distance stands a light
Gazing into the soul of our present night
It fades away and I bid it farewell
The world looks blur but the clear glare of the sun
Confusion is but for a dusk
At dawn we sit in the arbor and ask
'From whence cometh the light without a match'
And oh, from our forefathers, their graves
Yesterday's wisdom, tomorrow's vision
Today's night, yesterday's light
Wisdom, vision
We drowned a thousand feet and emerged taught
Memories of ancient wisdom jog along my skull
And winnow my brain from the rain of fashion chaff
From a distance stands a light
Gazing into the soul of our present night
It fades away and I bid it farewell
The world looks blur but the clear glare of the sun
Confusion is but for a dusk
At dawn we sit in the arbor and ask
'From whence cometh the light without a match'
And oh, from our forefathers, their graves
Yesterday's wisdom, tomorrow's vision
Today's night, yesterday's light
Wisdom, vision
